A blank canvas
Ever since I can remember, the joys of artistic expression has been firmly rooted in how I view the world. I see shapes, curves, lights, sharp edges, varying contrasts, flavorful colors, and wonderful feelings when I open my eyes to a world of art everywhere; everyday. To enjoy the simplicities or complexities of life is to enjoy art as I see it.
Now the artist in me also enjoys creating works from these feelings through which we all experience everyday. In my creation of a new piece, whether it be a new poem, website, still, sketch, paper, even this blog post; I have this infatuation with the concept of a blank canvas. I enjoy just looking at a blank piece of paper or canvas. I can imagine what I’d like to do with it and through my visualizations my entry point for the piece can change several times before I add one drop of my own impression on the canvas. I know that I’m not alone in this feeling. Any thoughts…
