Winning: Jack Welch, Suzy Welch
Jack Welch was the acclaimed CEO of GE before his successor Jeff Immelt. The book was written after the release of his earlier published autobiography and tells the story of Jack’s travels throughout the country answering many questions from around the world. After writing his autobiography Jack conducted various question and answer sessions throughout the world with a variety of audiences. Jack reveals that the questions provided a medium through which he delivered this book because he saw a need to explain how to win in business.
Jack covers topics such as mission statements, values, winning in China, dealing with government, moving in your career, work-life balance, budgeting, six-sigma and much much more. The book is full of Jack’s experiences with GE and is told from that perspective. There’s not much fluff in the book so be prepared to dig in and learn the Jack-way of business and life. You may not agree with him on every point, but he does a phenominal job of pointing out different views on many business related issues that well worth the experienced opinion.
