The New CIO Leader: Broadbent, Kitzis
I read this book about two years ago and really enjoyed it. The new CIO/CTO leaders have began to take the leap from simply managing technology to being integral in leading companies strategically. This book speaks to this trend and how the new CIO leader must make this connection to align IT strategy with the business maxims that drive technology. While reading the March 2007 issues of CIO Decisions, a publication for information technology professionals, I noticed that some CIO’s are making the connection, but still many have not.Â
The New CIO Leader is a must read for any business professional that yearns to gain insight into how IT should be aligned with strategic goals of the a company. Whether you are a technician, engineer, project manager, supervisor, manager, business analyst, controller, COO, CFO, CTO, CIO, or CEO; this book is a great reference for your current or future technical leaders. I’ve found it useful as I evaluate leaders around me and as a tool for growth within my profession.Â
