My 1st Duathlon - Minneapolis Duathlon

This summer I've had a number of firsts. I completed a 26 mile run at Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota. Then I finally got a road bike and completed a 100 mile ride in the Tour de Tonka. I figured I'd keep the challenges coming and try a duathlon. The Minneapolis Duathlon is the World's Largest Duathlon and it sponsored by the Ortho Foundation. What a fantastic event and a great day for the race. I didn't have much time to train for the race and this was my first time ever doing both a run and a ride. But I think that workout training regime with Beachbody has yet again at least kept me competitive. This race featured a 5K Run, 18 Mile Ride, then another 5K Run to complete the event.

If you live in or near the area I would highly suggest that you add this race to your list of to-do's next season. The volunteer staff was top-notch and the gear was the best I've seen in my limited race events. If you rode in the race, I love to hear from you and see your shots. I'll share more pictures after they are available in a few days.
