Options for 2014
Looking back at my life in 2013 has been interesting. I could not have predicted the series of events that led to my family being where we are today. It is the resolve of a gracious God that continues to stand by our side and set a path for us to walk on that has gotten our family this far. This night last year we spent the night of New Years Eve at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital. I was months away from another difficult challenge with a career move. We've come through it all with a few scares but stronger nonetheless.
People ask me on occasion to discuss what-if scenarios with the challenges they face. What if we didn't have this...what if we made a different decision...what if things had been different? I chose to believe that the only reason to ponder these types of situations is to develop a better plan for the future rather than daydreaming about what could have been. The longer one wastes time on what could have been, the less time you have to devote to changing for the next round of life's challenges.
It it is my expectation to continue to shift any conversation toward what can be done. This is very typical for me at home, in the office and in the community. My focus is on incremental growth. Recognizing the incremental growth of others efforts has also been empowering for me. I chose to inspire people around me to achieve new levels of success. Their successes are my successes. Understanding the power of little gains is the secret for long lasting success. It is this concept that I'm looking forward to implementing in a new way for 2014.
FOCUS. MAXIMIZE. RECOGNIZE.
I'm looking to make changes in a few areas for 2014. (1) Investment Strategy, (2) Spiritual Growth of Family & (3) Long Family Vacation
More to come on each in the near future. Happy New Year
